About

Solidarity Stories is the brainchild of Kate Speer, a renowned mental health advocate and the current CEO of The Dogist. During Kate's twenties, deeply affected by depression and a misdiagnosis of bipolar disorder, she turned to advocacy and writing to cope with the pain of stigma and her symptoms. During one of her 21 hospital stays, she dreamt up this brand - a way to wear your solidarity and support on your sleeve. This is that dream come true for her and now, with your help and support, together we can tackle her biggest dream - to empower others with mental illness to share their story and to collectively build a world where all aspects of our humanity - both our pain and our joy - belong.

We are donating 50% of proceeds to the Upper Valley Haven Food Shelf. Each season, through nominations and votes, we will choose a nonprofit to support. We can’t wait to see what you all think of this and hear your ideas for more fun apparel to come.
