I made the decision to start the process to become a doctor after my mom had passed away. She died 2 years ago this May.

Although I am so excited, I keep picturing all of these milestones without her. I'm making these huge steps in my life and she isn't even here.

She helped me take my very first steps, and all I want to do in honor her with my life by dedicating it to helping others.

Every time I start to struggle with my studies, I just picture my mom smiling at me with this huge smile, tears in her eyes and her telling me how proud she is of me.
