I finally made the decision to get a cane.

I finally made the decision to get a cane. I’m 23 years old and have never had any mobility issues my entire life. But my chronic pain has made it impossible to walk some days unassisted.

I think the reason it took me so long to get a mobility aid is internalized ableism. I am scared to go out in public with my cane, I don’t want people to view me differently or treat me differently. I know it sounds silly and dumb but I really hope it gets easier over time.
