I divorced my parents.

I know they supported me to get here–to where I will be the first college graduate in our family–but I can no longer accept them because of their political views.

I've tried everything I can to make peace with them but they support a party that celebrates killing our people in the streets.

I'm finishing college from my friend's house. I have never felt more scared or empowered in my life.
